• Camp Goals and Outcomes

  First and foremost, we want our campers to have a fun summer while they develop self-esteem, learn to be more independent, and make new friends! It’s important that our campers enjoy their experience and want to come back to camp.  Our staff strive to ensure that all campers are having fun and feel comfortable and safe so that they get the most out of our programming.

  
  WE OFFER OPPORTUNITIES THAT DEVELOP A CAMPER’S SELF-ESTEEM

  • • Older campers (entering 2nd - 6th grade) have choice activities (weather permitting).
    • Each camper will participate in at least one activity every day that promotes self-esteem such as low or high challenge course elements, sports, swimming, or archery.
    • Campers participate in name games on Monday that allow everyone to get to know one another.
    • The nurturing and friendly staff positively encourage their campers throughout the camp day and encourage all campers to participate in the camp activities on a daily basis.

  WE PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE CAMPERS CHALLENGE THEMSELVES AND LEARN NEW SKILLS

  • • All campers participate in 2 or more activities that challenge them during the week, and these activities might include crafts, sports, dance, yoga, swimming, ropes course, and archery.

  WE HELP CAMPERS BUILD THEIR SOCIAL SKILLS

  • • The staff encourage children to reach beyond their group of friends and expand their friendship circle. 
    • Campers interact with each other, and they learn about each other, and create friendships in a small camp environment.

  WE HELP CAMPERS INCREASE THEIR INDEPENDENCE

  • • Campers are away from home and they are experiencing something new!  The nurturing environment sets expectations, and campers rise to the occasion and become more responsible and independent. 

• Swimming Lessons

  We believe that swimming is an important life-saving skill and we continually get top marks for our swim program. The Full Day Campers have a swim lesson each morning and the group lesson size is small. 
  
  The swim staff is entirely separate from the counselor staff, and all members of the swim staff hold Lifeguard Training (LGT) certification, and some hold Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. On the first day of each session, the new campers are tested for their swimming ability, and at the end of each child's enrollment in camp, an evaluation of progress is sent home in the form of a swim report.
  
  In addition to offering instructional swimming, we also offer recreational swimming as an activity. The children in Lower Camp and Upper Camp have a recreational swim time in the afternoon Monday through Friday.

• Theme Weeks

  Each week we have a special theme and campers can dress up on Fridays if they choose.  Our "Fun Friday" activities are created around the weekly themes.

• Counselor to Camper Ratio

  The counselor to camper ratio is 1:5 for our campers entering K to 2nd grade.
  
  The counselor to camper ratio is 1:8 for our campers entering 3rd to 6th grade.
  
  ROPES COURSE

  Only 1 group of campers (group sizes are 15 – 20 campers) is at the Ropes Course activity at any one time. There are 2 trained Ropes Course staff at all times. Counselors stay at the activity according to the “general camp ratios” stated above.

   

  ARCHERY

  Only 1 group of campers (group sizes are 15 – 20 campers) is at the Archery activity at any one time. There is 1 trained and certified Archery Instructor at all times with 10 children able to be on the range at one time.  Counselors stay at the activity according to the “general camp ratios” stated above.

  Aftercamp is available until 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
